South Tampa : Edible Arrangements Blooms In Center
Forget floral bouquets. The new rage in gift baskets is a mix of fruit and chocolate made to resemble flowers.
Edible Arrangements, 1305 S. Dale Mabry Highway, opened last month as part of the expansion of the Dale Mabry Shopping Center, next to Publix. The franchise is owned by former Major League Baseball pitcher Brian Tollberg and his wife, Aimee.
The arrangements, which can feed from two to 75 and range from $25 to $200, include pineapple, honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberries, oranges, apples and grapes, along with dark and white chocolate.
The fruit can be dipped in chocolate, employee Donna Moye said. Each arrangement is made fresh daily and can last up to four days if refrigerated.
There are 500 Edible Arrangements stores on the East Coast, with 13 in Florida, Moye said.
The store is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
