With the Spring Festival coming near, the people of Shenzhen have found something new to decorate their homes — “Space flowers”.

According to a news report on Dayoo.com, a portal website for the southern Chinese Guangdong Province, various “space flowers” are on show at the first space flower exhibition in Shenzhen. Local people are said to be fascinated by them.

A staff member at the exhibition, Xu Mingquan, said that these extraordinarily brightly-colored flowers could enjoy a longer florescence than normal flowers.

Xu Mingquan explained that the flowers had paid visits to space, carried by the Shenzhou-3 spaceship and the Shenzhou-6 manned spaceship, as well as the 20th and the 21st recoverable satellites for scientific and technological experiments.
