A fire late Sunday night left an 86-year-old Arlington flower shop in ruins just two days before Valentine’s Day.

However, owner Louis Flynt said he could deliver all the flowers currently on order in time for the holiday. Though many of the arrangements were destroyed or damaged, Mr. Flynt said that he still had unharmed flowers in a refrigerated trailer parked behind the store and that a warehouse containing fresh flowers was undamaged. He planned to order additional flowers early Monday morning.

H.E. Cannon Floral Company is located in the 500 block of West Division Street and has been in business since 1921.

The fire started just before midnight.
