Roses are red, violets are blue, Here’s a flower, just for you…
Valentine’s Day was highly visible at Bishop Luffa School yesterday, as hundreds of red roses were carried along corridors and into classrooms.
Year 10 students in Otter House organised a discreet delivery service for morning registration, so lucky recipients could each receive single red roses from secret admirers.
Attached to each rose was a red label bearing a message of admiration and love – usually anonymous, as is the tradition.
The organisers, who received nearly 500 orders, expect to be able to send about £400 to Action Aid, an international development agency whose aim is to fight poverty worldwide.
Otter House has been running the annual Valentine’s Day fund-raising event for about ten years and the sum raised yesterday beat all previous records.
