Victorian Blooms by Badang Rueda
Although somewhat new in the market (he styled his first wedding in 1998), Badang’s Victorian Blooms, which he founded in 2004, is already known for his use of vibrant colors and textures to personify the desires of the couple.
Some of his preferences are hot pink instead of fuchsia for tablecloths or royal blue goblets instead of traditional crystal. For Badang, planning a wedding is not something that you just do. He always emphasizes that events stylists need to know a lot of things, from the flowers available during a particular season, their prices, where to buy the freshest supplies, venues available, fabric choices, and knowing which hues match so that everything will be beautifully presented.
Badang is also always in search of perfection in style and design, and experimenting with new combinations of colors and textures. With that philosophy and Martha Stewart and Henry Pascual as some of the stylists he looks up to, what do we expect from Badang?
Right now he is working to produce more ingenious presentations of floral beauty and he is intent upon becoming one of the most eminent event stylists in Luzon. And who knows? Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney’s ‘The Wedding Date’ could be your wedding. With some great weddings already to his credit, Badang’s next project is a Black and White wedding. With his name appearing in almost all Google searches for weddings, Badang is surely a talent to watch out for. For big budget weddings, expect extravagant style; more modest weddings receive simple but elegant designs. And that is what he is—a crazy mixture of extravagant and simple personality traits but always with a hint of elegance.
Watch for Badang Rueda’s set-up of the Wedding Essentials booth next saturday at the country’s biggest bridal fair, the Wedding Expo at the PICC Forum.
