Home, garden show has latest in landcaping, improvement
Just like spring comes each year, so does the WSAZ Home and Garden Show as it offers you a breath of fresh air after a long winter spell indoors.
I consider the WSAZ Home and Garden Show a one-stop shop where you can gaze at so many different aspects to improve your living quarters outside as well as indoors.
Where it would take you days and days to check out the new advances of landscape design, it would only take you a trip up and down the many isles at the garden show to get the same great new ideas.
The WSAZ Home and Garden Show opened Friday. The show times today are from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., while the doors are open at noon Sunday with the show winding down at 5 p.m.
Talk about a cheap date, you can take that special someone with you and the admission is only $5 each, and for children 6 to 12, it’s only a buck.
Talk about children’s activities, there are many so don’t forget to take the little ones along. Like in past years, the show will offer a “Kid’s Adventure Garden.” An activity near and dear to my heart, the Huntington Garden Club will again be offering a free planting class where young show goers will be able to pot up and take home some flower transplants. Furthermore, several of my friends from the Scioto 4-H Youth Program in Ohio will have a petting zoo.
Don’t forget that one of the main attractions every year is the Master Gardener Booth. This area (booth 14-17) will be staffed with dozens of area Master Gardeners who will offer their horticulture expertise to those who want to improve their landscape.
One final comment, stop by the WSAZ booth and bring your plant questions with you.
