Feng shui to get the romance flowing
QUESTION:
What is good feng shui for a bedroom for the best romantic placement?
Fran, Newburgh
ANSWER:
Jessica Maldonado of Thoroughly Feng Shui says, “According to the ancient Chinese practice, it is not necessarily where your bedroom is but the balance of energy within it. However, to enhance the ‘romantic’ area of your life, it would be ideal if your bedroom was to the farthest right-hand corner of your home or apartment.
“This area, according to the bagua, is representative of relationships within your life,” she says. “In feng shui, the bagua is used to map out and locate the corresponding areas of a space to that of your life.”
“Although the relationship area of your home encompasses every type of relationship (whether it is with clients, co-workers, family or a partner), you can do a few key things to boost the romantic energy of the room.”
# Some helpful additions include placement of statues, paintings, photographs of people or situations that show affection or loving aspects.
# In addition, flowers and memorabilia of positive moments with your loved one can be placed around the room. It is important to use objects in pairs rather than singles.
# Lastly, the colors red and pink will help add a little fire to the bedroom.

Feng shui is fascinating. I took a course for interior designers.
And, although I am not an expert, I understand the basics. The relationship area is something I addressed in my own home.
I created two “love corners” in my house. One is in the far right corner of my bedroom where I have a Swarovski heart-shaped crystal hanging from a red cord. The middle of the heart has a red heart-shaped crystal. The other “love corner” is in the far right corner of my home office, where I placed a plant stand with a pink flower arrangement, two statues of love birds and a pink glass heart paperweight.
No matter what you do, it is important to keep your intention in mind when you are creating your “love corner” or working on the other areas in your life/home.
