Spring Home Expo a good place to find help with home improvement projects
Whether fans of “This Old House” or “Extreme Home Makeover,” attendees to the Spring Home Expo 2007 will have no trouble finding solutions to their home improvement projects.
The event is being held today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Williamson County Pavilion.
“We will have anything and everything that has to do with the home building and remodeling industry,” said Darla Peterman of the Home Builders Association of Southern Illinois. “We’ll have over 75 vendors and 140 booths.”
Typically, the association has a fall and spring expo, but has never held its Spring Expo at the Pavilion.
“Our spring show is usually double the size of our fall show,” Peterman said. “This will be a new venue and a great opportunity for people to look at a variety of things all in one location instead of driving to several places.”
Among the vendors represented at the show are contractors, landscaping companies, lumberyards and banks.
Admission to the event is $3 at the door, and children 12 and younger get in free. For the children, the homebuilders association will have an area where kids can construct their own birdhouse, free of charge.
With each paid admission, attendees will have a chance to win the “Great Cardinal Getaway,” which includes two tickets to see the St. Louis Cardinals, a night at the Millennium Hotel, a $50 gas card and a $50 gift certificate to the Spaghetti Factory.
Many of the vendors will also have their own drawings for prizes.
