Portland Flower Show Comes To An End
The annual Portland flower show will be closing its doors this evening for another year. But not before hundreds of more people check out the displays.
This year’s theme is gardens around the world and feature Dutch gardens, Japanese gardens, gardens from Scotland, France and Australia. The show’s director says the best thing is getting to watch everyone come in and get excited about spring and doing their own gardening and landscaping.
She says once the doors close Sunday at 6:00 PM, it’s a whole new environment.
“As of tonight, after the show closes, all these gardeners will get very busy moving this out of here. All of these gardens, all 18 of them, have to be completely disassembled by Tuesday afternoon, that’s our deadline. So they get really busy. You’ll see skid steers and forklifts and everything coming in here moving trees and plants and stones and that entire sort of thing,” said Jan Love, Show Director.
If you can’t make it down to Portland Sunday, you can always look forward to the Bangor Garden Show. It’s being held March 23rd through the 25th at the Bangor Auditorium.
