Letting ‘Urja’ flow into your home
The direction of the main door determines how much positive energy enters your house, and hence how healthy and happy you are .
It is a known fact that applying Vaastu /Feng Shui principles to your home could bring greater equilibrium into your life. There is much one can derive from these ancient sciences of design and architecture. These sciences are based on the principle that any structure is an active area and is believed to allow life energy/Urja to enter into the premises, which is known as “Prana”. These life forces flow into a home from the main entrance. This door plays an important role in determining the flow of vibrations experienced by the household.
An auspicious entrance or mouth of the chi is a crucial factor in determining the quality of energy in a property. The main door plays an important role in determining the flow of vibrations experienced by the household.
The main door
The main door is the main entrance which you use most often, and through which the energy enters the house. You may have a main entrance in the northeast, but if you are using the west entrance of your garage or the back door the most, then that becomes your main door.
Main door tells us at the macro level about the overall luck of the property. A good entrance bringing in auspicious chi into the property benefits one and all and therefore is very important in Vaastu and Feng Shui.
Basic thumb rules for the main entrance are:
• The facing of the property and the main entrance in the same direction is always considered auspicious.
• The size of the main door should not be too big or too small. Should be in proportion to the building.
• Frame of the main door should be the largest compared to the other doors at home.
• Never have two doors side by side in a straight line to enter a home.
• Avoid any kind of obstruction right in front of the door. It could be tree, pillar, statue, lamppost or anything for that matter that hinders a clear view.
• Having the main door and the back door in a straight alignment is not auspicious as will not allow chi to collect into the property.
• Never have a wall right opposite the main door.
• Always ensure there is light above the door.
• Door opening inside to the property is considered auspicious.
• Main enter ace should not face a toilet or kitchen directly
• The door should open completely. Clutter or anything that obstructs free movement of the door can create problems for the residents. It is very important that the energy is circulated without hindrance.
Direction debate
Although basic rules are the same in both the sciences there is a debate on the directions. The objective is definitely the same as both aim to harmonise the living with the nature and its energies around us only the application and understanding is slightly different.
According to the Vaastu south is considered inauspicious but the traditional Chinese Feng Shui defers in this regard. A south facing entrance can be auspicious and here in this context we would go anti Vaastu but the formulas make south an auspicious direction for the selected few and this is a known fact. The fear and phobia of south being an inauspicious direction is not true. A qualified Feng Shui practitioner can help you further without any wear and tear due to the flexibility in its application.
The rigidity of Vaastu and its rules are applicable to one and all irrespective of the person whereas Feng Shui takes into consideration the date of birth of the owner and hence a tailor-made program that is suitable to the owner. In short we are speaking of more refined results.
Personally I do agree that something created specifically for you will definitely have far better results as a one size fits all theory is only applicable on general terms but again it is one’s choice as to what one would want to follow .As long as you are aware that there is a science of environment and a natal chart of a property that plays a strong role and when implemented can bring peace, prosperity and abundance this article has served its purpose. Go ahead and experiment with a few principles of the science – it could change your life, for the better.
