Centennial floral design featured at flower show
Redlands Horticultural and Improvement Society’s 95th Annual Flower Show “Garden Harmony” will be held on April 28 – 29 in the glass-enclosed ESRI Cafe facility at 380 New York Street in Redlands.
In honor of the University of Redlands Centennial Celebration, a special category has been added to the adult floral design division of the flowers show – the “University of Redlands Centennial Design.”
Open to all, this category includes floral designs of any size and style but must feature the university colors – maroon and gray. Designs must be the work of the entrant, but the plant materials need not have been grown by the arranger and may be either fresh or dried.
In recognition of the historic significance of this category, the University of Redlands is providing a special RCentennial Award’ for the winning design.
The show includes both horticultural and floral design exhibits for amateurs, in more than 150 categories – some just for kids.
There is no charge to enter an exhibit in the flower show and entries are always welcome.
Ribbons and prizes are awarded after the show is judged. Those wishing to exhibit may bring their entries to the Flower Show site between 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening April 27 or
