Home in the woods brings peace, quiet
April 07, 2007 By: Momoy Category: Home & DecorationI moved here from Virginia when I got married. Bruce already lived here. I had sold real estate in Virginia, and we began looking at houses. I knew I wanted something new. I found this house on the Internet before I came out to look. I told him about it, and he had never heard of this development (Northwood Hills), so he drove out and looked at it over his lunch break. He loved it. We didn’t even look at any other houses. People thought that was funny — since I was a real estate person — that I didn’t want to look at more than one house.
This house had great curb appeal; then, when you walked in, it was so open. It was everything I wanted. It was just a couple of years old, but the owner hadn’t done much to it, so we could make it our own. We moved three years ago this July and have been doing things slowly. We’ve painted most of the walls. Now we need to turn our attention to the outside. We did put on a deck and had stone walls built. We love this neighborhood. It’s so wooded and quiet and peaceful. We see a lot of wildlife. There were deer in my front yard the other morning. Everybody on the cul-de-sac is very close and loves to party.
