Pick the right daffodil for your garden
Daffodils come in a wide variety of flower forms and colors.
What makes trumpet daffodils different is that the cup is longer than the petals that extend out from the sides.
In large-cup daffodils, the cup is as large as the trumpet variety but it is not quite as large as the petals. If the cup is less than one-third the length of the petals, it is considered a small-cup daffodil. One thing these varieties have in common is that there is only one flower per stalk.
Double daffodils have a lot of little petals in the center giving it a ruffled appearance.
Triandrus daffodils have bell-shaped cups. They are smaller than most other types and can get multiple blooms.
Cyclamineus daffodils have one bloom and their petals look like they’ve been swept back by wind.
With all these types of daffodils and more, you’re bound to find one that works well in your garden.
