The flowers are grown from cuts and come in five different colors: red, white, pink (salmon or Martha Washington), purple and variegated red (scarlet with white-speckled leaves). The flowers are $1.60 per plant or $30 for a flat of 20 plants (one single color or assorted). Hanging baskets are also available for $18 for a 10-inch pot or $19 for a 12-inch pot.

Pond management workshop
A pond management workshop will be offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County from 8:30 a.m. to noon April 21 at 4-H Camp Bristol Hills, 4437 Kear Road in Canandaigua. This workshop can help those who’d like an earthen pond and those managing an existing farm pond. The fee is $10 per person ($5 per Ontario County resident). Register by April 16. Course offered
The Western Monroe Historical Society is sponsoring a six-week antiques course starting April 19. The classes will be held on six consecutive Thursday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Seymour Library, 161 East Ave. in Brockport. Auction items sought
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County is seeking donations of items or services for its fundraising gala auction in June. Last December, funding for the office was cut by $175,000, more than half.
A silent auction will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and a live auction at 7:30 p.m. June 7 at 249 Highland Ave.
The cost of the gala, which is open to the public and includes wine-tasting, hors d’oeuvres and a chocolate fountain, is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Other sought-after donations include public relations, marketing or media support, as well as sponsors and underwriters for the event.
