Light Colours Good for Bathrooms
April 15, 2007 By: Momoy Category: Home & DecorationDECORATING the home, no matter how small or big often requires expertise. You will often note the process of decorating or redecorating any part of the home brings about a new outlook, hiding or replacing unattractive features.
It, however, can turn out to be a messy affair, if decoration is not done properly. This week we focus on bathroom décor, which is often ignored by many.
Bathrooms are personal spaces that can look dull and dated. They are often not given due attention unless a broken down geyser messes up the walls, which may need a fresh coat of paint.
In decorating a bathroom the things to look out for that may need sprucing up or splashes of vibrant colours include curtains, the toilet seat, sink, tub, the floor tiles, shower curtains and even accessories like doors and windows.
The tub is one important accessory of the bathroom, which needs due care and attention. Apart from the colour, it is important to maintain the enamel coating by constantly spraypainting the whole set so that it does not become susceptible to rust and stains.
Instead of leaving the tub bare, without any decoration, you can create your own free hand design using a pencil. Use gold glitter glue to accentuate the lines and add rhinestones for some extra decoration. However, ceramic tiles that are now readily available, can save you the hassle of decorating since they come in various colours.
Toilet seats, sinks, and floor tiles should take the colour of the tub, while curtains in a different colour will bring out a refreshing contrast.
Nice airy, light colours are always good for the bathroom, no matter how big or small. The same goes for the bathroom tiles.
