Home and Garden show showcases home design and gives to charity
The Parade of Homes showcased some of the best architecture in Summit County last year, along with top-notch appliances and clever interior ideas. But it was just that – a parade – and viewers may not have had the chance to speak with the people that made the homes both functional and beautiful.
At the upcoming Summit County Builders Association’s 10th annual Home and Garden Show, curious customers (and “just lookers”) will have the chance to meet and experience the work of some of the most innovative local contractors, suppliers and builders.
“This gives the public a larger opportunity to focus on some of the products and efforts of certain subcontractors …” Summit County Builders Association president Dave Koons said.
In all, 74 exhibitors will be on hand, along with educational exhibitors presenting information on topics ranging from landscaping to home theaters to financing.
The event will also include a silent auction with non-building related items, including restaurant gift certificates, plumbing contracts, spa services and more. All money from the auction will go to Bristlecone Health Services.
Last year – the first year that the SCBA show had a charitable component – more than $6,000 was donated. This year, Koons said he’s hoping to present Bristlecone with more than $10,000 in proceeds from the Home and Garden Show.
