Everything for the home
This year’s home show sponsored by Enid Homebuilders Association may be the biggest ever.
Janelle Martin, promoter for the show, said the 32nd annual home show will feature more than 300 vendors covering every aspect of home and personal needs and wants. An extra day was added this year to accommodate the expected crowds.
The show will be Friday, Saturday and April 29 at Chisholm Trail Expo Center. The show will be open 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.. to 5 p.m. April 29. Admis-sion is $1, and proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity.
Dennis Warren, advertising manager for the News & Eagle, which is a gold sponsor, expects an outstanding show.
“From our sta-ndpoint, the magazine we’re printing for this show is glossy all the way through, just like a regular magazine. This is the first time we’ve been able to do that,” he said.
The News & Eagle will have a booth at the show, and company employees will be working at it. It will offer discount subscriptions, prizes and other gifts.
“This is the second year we’ve been a gold level sponsor. That comes from our relationship with the home builders and Janelle,” Warren said.
Martin said vendors are coming from the East and West coasts and from north and south. There also will be plenty of state and local businesses represented. This year’s show will feature a modular home provided by Maxey Homes that will be fully set up and on display. The home will arrive Friday and be assembled, furnished and decorated by local businesses.
In addition to furnishings and interior decorations, vendors present will showcase outdoor products, including portable buildings, outdoor buildings, hot tubs, soft tubs and swimming pools.
Real estate companies will be present, as will housing developers, representatives of siding and window companies and flooring companies. One company will build a sun room for display. There will be representatives for travels companies and resorts from Branson, Mo., Kaw Lake at Ponca City and Splash Zone in Enid.
Companies selling house interior products will be represented this year and will showcase cabinets, a personal saw, hand braided rugs and children’s products.
More than 25,000 people are expected, which is the reason the third day was added to the schedule, Martin said.
“This home show is now the second largest in Oklahoma. Tulsa is first, Enid second, then Oklahoma City are the top three,” Martin said.
Martin is owner of C&M Production Group, which promotes the show.
