W Fort Lauderdale debuts interior design plan

W Fort Lauderdale has commissioned the creative direction of New York-based Clodagh Design to implement its signature luxury-meets-Zen vibe into W’s first South Florida property.
“W Fort Lauderdale will combine W’s signature design with the oceanic elements of this prime beachfront location,” said John Yanopoulos, President of DYL Group and developer of the project. “With contemporary lines, organic touches and chic, plush furniture, W Fort Lauderdale Hotel & Residences will offer residents and hotel guests exclusivity, escape and indulgence in a luxury seaside sanctuary.”
As part of its overall plan, Clodagh’s design will create a mood for easy resort living, using the waves of the Atlantic Ocean as inspiration and the city’s pristine beach as the directive. Assimilating a palette of textured naturals and wet, cool metals, common areas will be serene with simplicity and clean lines. Upon entering the W Living Room, guests will be welcomed to a clear staircase rising through the bottom of the infinity, oceanfront pool above and the W Living Room ceiling. Booths with stretched pearl-colored fabric extending to the ceiling will be positioned throughout the Living Room, creating pod seating for intimate conversations. Like all of Clodagh’s commissions, Feng Shui, aromatherapy and eco-friendly elements will be incorporated throughout the building.
Taking advantage of the property’s oceanfront location and panoramic shoreline views, Clodagh will bring the barefoot beach resort lifestyle into the living and sleeping space as well, centering it around a platform king-size bed primed with the exclusive W plush-top mattress, a crisp white goose down duvet and soft, chenille throws.
Serenity will flow into the main bathrooms, where the sleeping and vanity areas will be visually open as one, separated by a glass-enclosed rain shower or luxury spa bath. The remaining rooms and spaces will be separated by large sliding doors, offering an open layout or closed private room. Cushiony sofas and flexible and interchangeable ottomans will be positioned along floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive balconies overlooking the glittering Atlantic shores by day and the twinkling lights of the skyline by night. Waves of blue with splashes of sand and driftwood tones, enhanced accents of wood, sandblasted steel, and natural stone will weave throughout each room.
