“Flowers” blossoms at Indian festival
April 27, 2007 By: Momoy Category: FlowersPan Nalin’s “Valley of Flowers” took the top prize at the fifth edition of the Indian Film Festival of L.A., which wrapped Sunday at the ArcLight. Berlin winner “Vanaja,” directed by Rajnesh Domalpalli, got a special mention.
The grand jury prizes went to Paromita Vohra’s “Q2P” (docu) and Srinivas Sunderajan’s “Tea Break” (short).
Aud awards went to “Outsourced” by John Jeffcoat for feature, “Divided We Fall” by Sharat Raju for doc and Shyam Balse’s “Monsoon” for short.
Fest paid tribute to thesp Deepti Naval and unspooled her pics “Kamla,” “Panchvati” and “Main zinda hoon” (I Am Alive).
