Areas affected by construction to get new trees
Starting today, Split Rock Landscaping will begin replacing trees in the 33rd Street and Duluth Avenue, 13th Street and Kiwanis Avenue, and Pendar Lane Storm Drainage Basin Project Areas.
Approximately 300 trees are being replanted in the boulevards of properties that were affected by construction. In addition, the City will be replacing trees on other city-owned properties that were affected by the storm drainage projects.
The City of Sioux Falls and homeowners worked together to select the species of trees and locations for replanting.
The contractor is expected to be completed with the tree plantings by the end of May.
