Colorful Foliage An Alternative To Flowers
Flowers are fine, but sometimes foliage plants last a lot longer on the landscape.
One example, Alternanthera, sometimes called Joseph’s Coat. There are a lot of colors out there too. There are ones that are green, ones that have more yellow in it, and ones that have a lot more red.
There are polka dot plants, also called Hypoestes. They come in white, kind of cream maybe, and then we have one with the pink and one with the pure red. All of these things so far will take full sun.
Setcreasea has been around for a long time. It’s also called purple queen and takes sun or part sun. It’s tough and durable one, especially for the dry conditions.
There are lots of different types of Coleus out there. They come in a variety of colors, including a deep greenish-purple.
Then there are all of the sweet potatoes. They can be planted out there out in the planting baskets again for full sun. And of course, just about everyone knows the Caladiums and the Croton. Lots of color, you don’t always have to add flowers. Go ahead and add some foliage plants too.
