SPOKANE — There are a number of plants that are in full bloom right now, because it is spring.

I just love spring. In my garden I have three special shrubs that are blooming, and one is the Slender Deutzia. They grow to be about four feet tall or so, and they get these gorgeous delicate little star shaped blossoms, almost reminiscent of an open lilac.

The fragrance is very, very gentle and soft. It is positively beautiful.

The latest of all of the lilacs to bloom is the Miss Kim lilac. It takes part sun and part shade. It has the most delicate little flowers and it smells just as delicate.

There are many different Viburnum’s in the market, but one of my favorites is the Viburnum Sargentii Onondaga. It is outstanding. They grow to be about 12 feet tall and at least 12 feet wide. The flower on it is absolutely spectacular. It is a beautiful burgundy color and it has flower pink and white flower bordering its center. This truly is an outstanding Viburnum.
