Here’s some words from cool hunter about this project : “themed around the playful concept of being under a spotlight, the spaces feature gigantic, round, black lamp shades spray-painted gold inside. The unique shelf design by Thorunn Arnadottir called Tree, isn’t just a shelf but it can be a stunning decoration element while you place it in your wall. Here’s some words from the designer :
Mondrian hated green colour. He thought it was too obviousconnection to nature which didn´t go with De Stijl´s theories about decomposating nature into “pure colours and forms”. With De Stijl theory in mind I decided to make some sort of a 3D “painting” that could also be a shelf system. Then I did a little experiment. I painted the shelves in green tones. Mondrian was right. My square De Stijl-shelf had turned into a crown of a tree!
