2Pardon my ignorance but can you still call it ‘green technology’ after using so much of wood?
3This is a pretty incredible piece of architecture…I LOVE this place….
4The wood for this house was purchased from Canadian Wood Specialties. Their specialty is log salvage.
They choose to go after the logs that most in the industry would not even discuss: leftovers, mistakes, nature’s reactions and the economically unharvestable. We pursue burnt timbers, blown down trees, bug-kill wood and logs that were left behind in the cuts of 50 – 60 years ago. This wood is difficult and expensive to harvest and process, but they feel that nothing so increasingly rare and valuable should be wasted.
Also, wood salvaged and used in this way can be viewed as a form of carbon sequestration as long as it doesn’t burn or decay.
5may i request the layout plan of this wonderful design house?
