Havainas Sandals Store Interior by Isay Weinfeld

Havainas Sandals is a low cost sandal inspired from “zori”, traditional Japanese slippers made of rice straw. Isay Weinfeld is the guy behind this store design, he asked to create an architecture that inspires by Brazilian climates, fresh, casual, ease and well being. The shop has a very informal atmosphere and the outcome is nearly a square – a space fully opened onto the street, practically an extension of the sidewalk, without doors or window displays, with lush greenery and intense natural lighting, only covered by a metal grid alternating glass/wooden closures and openings for ventilation and irrigation. For more detail about the store layout you can see the floor-plan and section, visit the Isay Weinfeld website here.
