Minimalist House built in Narrow and Small Site by Miyahara Architect

Japanese is always create a cool architectural design, because of the land is very expensive here the Japanese architect must be able to create a comfortable building in the minimal space. The House Uc is a one of minimalist Japanese house that was built in the narrow space, designed by Miyahara Architect office this private house located in residential area of Tokyo, the house has irregular shape because of the small and narrow site. The site measures approximately 57 m2 in size: approximately 12 meters deep, 6 meters across where it faces the north road, and 2.7 meters across at the deepest end (building area 90.60m2 and Building height 8.8m). The design for House Uc therefore needed to focus on the ideal form of an urban detached house within the constraints of the site itself as well as laws and regulations. For more detail about this house let’s see the floorplan and section after the jump. Visit Miyahara Architect Office website for more information.

The roof is an interesting idea. The project illustrates one of a number of imaginative possibilities of living in a small space. See Christopher Alexander Pattern “Long Thin House” [109]. ” in small buildings don’t cluster all the rooms together…string them out…do it vertically so that building becomes a tall tower”.
