Eco Friendly House Design – Bamboo House with Solar Energy

Almost entirely constructed from bamboo and sun-powered, Tonji University Shanghai’s Bamboo House at the European Solar Decathlon is a beauty emerging from nature consciousness. The impressive solar array is capable of generating 9 kilowatts of electricity for its one bedroom, one living room layout. It’ a blend of modernity and traditionalism; traditional Chinese architecture and state of the art technology complete with temperature and humidity control systems, high-level thermal insulation systems, and a bamboo enclosed garden. This house is the result of team work with 20 members and is composed of doctors, postgraduates, and undergraduate students who range across many disciplines. Their objective is that the solar-powered house can help promote their forward-thinking ideas about renewable energy use in residential urban areas.

Jai Gurudev,
Since long time I wanted to built a first floor on my present home, but not like others which are normally build with usually use by cement concrete, sand, iron steel and etc… but something different of natural resources. As in our India in Kerala State Leaves of coconut trees+black soil(clay)+”chuna” (Indian word-which used with tobbaco chewing).
Of course, regarding bamboo I thought of that, but could not make design in vision, These pictures have proved me a full of guidence.
My heartly best wishes to all of you go ahead further and guide us by new projects.
