Fresh and Natural Office Design Ideas – PONS + HOUT Office

Pons and Hout Office can be regarded as one of the most exceptional and breath-taking work place for its beautiful view and fresh entourage that painstakingly captures the attention. Consisted of seven individual rooms for the executives and some rooms for other purposes, the office whose headquarter is in Paris is restored from the original setting which was first built around the 19th century. A new self-cleaning glass roof as one contemporary element is the proof of this renovation. The restoration of this building can also be seen in the insertion of a wooden unit in solid oak with the incongruent shape.

Each big wooden table with some holes through which the tree grows is completed with wooden upper surface covered with ‘a telephone dome’ which makes the employee feel the sense of living outer space. Other wooden tables contain archives, and other stationery needed for accomplishing the daily work. Computer, air condition, heating and water becomes an integral part of the room consisting of eight Ficus Panda tress. This place is more similar as the art gallery which exhibit work arts instead of a work place from which all important decisions are taken. However, this office combines the mastery in architecture design and the function in order to achieve special recognition. Design by Christian Pottgiesser

An interesting idea for an office solution, with the trees, high and luminous ceiling and wooden tables, but the glass spheres are kind of weird to me. Isolating the workers without leaving them any privacy seems like a pretty bad compromise. Additionally, it also doesn’t go with the “natural” feeling of the office.
