Capoco plans to release a prototype electric bus without driver in about three years. It’s claims of reducing air pollution and traffic congestion, wrapped up in a slick, futuristic package. Designed for British bus engineering company Capoco Design and concepted for thr bus was dreamt up in collaboratioan with the Royal College of Art. It combined of bio-diesel and electricity. It also enable a more time efficient of public transport.

Grenada wins gold at Chelsea Flower Show

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada: Grenada’s Chelsea Team led by Suzanne Gaywood won another gold medal for its display at the Annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show, held in London from May 22 – 26 2007.

Inspiration, innovation, quality and creativity are the trademarks of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. There you’ll find the world’s leading garden designers, nurseries and growers showing off stunning displays in what becomes one of the most exclusive and exciting showcase of dazzling array of plants from the traditional to the exotic from Cornwall to the Caribbean, Sweden to South Africa and Jersey to Grenada.

This year’s presentation focused on a fisherman’s shelter, nestling in a tranquil bay where its derelict jetty has been worn away by the theme “Time & Tide”. This display impressed the judges with its accurate depiction of floral arrangement and attention to detail.

Florist on the ball as he heads for Chelsea Flower Show

A TALENTED South Yorkshire florist is showing off his skills at Britain’s most prestigious flower show.
Jonathan Moseley, from Coal Aston, is such a big name in the natural world he has been invited to be a demonstrator at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show.

The 36-year-old is a member of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies so is no stranger to airing his abilities in front of crowds of people.

But he is particularly looking forward to presenting his plant proficiency at Britain’s top flower show.

Creativity and style lead the 2007 Parade of Homes

Hidden passages in a library, a disguised entrance to a laundry room and well-planned spaces were among the details in homes and communities that captured grand awards in this year’s Metro Orlando Parade of Homes.

Builders won in six categories ranging from custom home to design specialties. The awards were announced Saturday. The 2007 Parade of Homes, sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando, was April 15-29 and featured about 140 homes and communities in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.

The grand award in the custom-home category went to PSG Construction Inc., which built a $1.75 million home in the Beeman Park area of Orlando. The four-bedroom, 4 1/2-bath blend of Tuscan and traditional styles boasts a wood-paneled, librarylike office with a spiral staircase leading to a loft. There, more bookshelves hide secret doorways.

It’s not easy being green

In the words of Kermit, it’s not easy being green – unless, that is, you are the Japanese garden designer Kazuyuki Ishihara.

In keeping with the eco-friendly theme of this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, his exquisite design for a City garden is green – literally. But that’s where the similarly between the Garden of Clouds and the frog ends. Shocking in its perfection, Ishihara’s creation features walls of velvety hand-brushed moss – fixed with 10,000 pins – set off by the delicate forms of Ophiopogon japonicus and Iris sanguinea.
