Country cottage decorating often involve bringing a little of the outdoors, such as flowers and lots of greenery, to the inside. Let’s start with some wrought iron or wicker seating. These furniture, after a good clean-up, also fit well inside the house. Colors choice typically include lots of white with little addition of soft pastels. Another alternatives are lighter colors such as bright reds and brilliant blues. Simply put, these are the necessary items that need to be included; Milk stools for plant stands, Old trunks for coffee table, Old sewing machine cabinets, and Ladder back chairs. As for the fabric, these are good options; flowered chintz or soft chenille looks for slipcovers and throw pillows, soft cottons, do mix and match stripes and floral for an eclectic look, several dishtowels draped over a curtain rod or long panels of white cotton tied back with a contrasting ribbon, lace as addition to the curtains, tablecloths, napkins, etc. Accessories really emphasize the country cottage look, aside from being flexible for replacement, they are also fun and easy to use. The accessories may include old china pieces, hatboxes, old suitcases, quilts, rugs, birdcages, or ivy.

House with Creative Brick Facade Design by Brandt + Simon Architects

August 01, 2010 By: Momoy Category: Flowers

creative brick facade design

The brick facade is not affected by the building behind the trees in the future notice. The gradient is a planned-out, well-processed pattern of a garden shed. The facade of tiles is a massive and long-term solution that offers both extensive design options and a perfect dress for the structural engineering. The completed result is high cellulose-insulated construction and the uses of solar thermal for water heating that accentuate the environmentally-friendly nature of the house. It’s not common, perhaps true. But it’s not alien either. To get the feeling of dark painted walls one has to experience it. Dark color like chocolate or charcoal can create the cave effect that that is interesting and challenging for some people. Contrasting the crisp white against the dramatic dark conveys sophistication and elegance. These are some intense walls that I’m drawn to these days.

Inspired by the award-winning Shack at Hinkle Farm, by Broadhurst Architects, Inc., the Crib TM is a multi-purpose small shelter with myriad function ranging from a weekend retreat, a home yoga studio, a backyard home office, to cabins. An interesting aspect is the material of which this crib made. Going along with the growing spirit of environmentalism, it utilizes recyclable material that can be transported and assembled on site. The Crib, in its form, is of a traditional American corn crib. The structural system employs a modern approach with a hint of traditionality which is reflected by combination of shop-fabricated galvanized steel and a wood timber framing with simplicity of a scaffolding system.
